So, I will be devoting this entire post to those twelve tones, going into as much detail as is reasonable for this entry-level theory. The best approach, therefore, is to already be intimate with these notes as notes before you start turning them into chords or melodies to get a feel for your clay before you begin to sculpt. I did say I was starting at square one, didn’t I? I feel an entire lesson should be dedicated to these twelve tones right off the bat, because they are what make up our music: every scale, every chord, and every melody that will be examined in the future is made up of these tones. Yes, the first proper post in this blog will be about the twelve tones the notes that make up our music.
